Jeramy Ratelle is a Royal Canadian Air Force aerospace engineering officer. The day job is keeping aircraft airworthy: configuration control, evidence-based decisions, and rules that are enforced by the system rather than by memory. Astra Devs is where the same discipline is applied to software.
The studio builds its own products first. CyberLens AI scans the code, skills and servers that AI agents produce. Peak Tasks turns a forwarded email into a filed task. GameGrid schedules tournaments with a real constraint solver. VideoLens turns a recording into a report with timestamped evidence. Products ship wherever their users are: the web, the Apple App Store, the Chrome Web Store and Google Play. The tooling around them, MCP servers, editor extensions and npm packages, is published in the open.
Client work is selective and follows the same pattern: understand the constraint, design the data model and the invariants, ship a vertical slice to production early, and operate it afterwards. Managed websites, hosting and maintenance run under Astra Web Dev(opens in a new tab), so this studio can stay focused on systems.
Everything is Canadian-owned and operated from Ottawa. Customer data lives in Canadian regions, credentials live in a password manager and never in a table, and nothing on this site is invented: the status badges, stacks and dates come from the same registry that runs the private operations hub.
